Stephen Ritterbush, PhD, is a co-founder of xMD Diagnostics and serves the Company’s Chief Financial Officer and Co-Chairman.  Dr. Ritterbush is a successful entrepreneur and venture capitalist. During his 30-year career he has founded and developed more than fifteen technology startups, a dozen of which are in health care. Prior to co-founding xMD, Dr. Ritterbush was the managing partner of Fairfax Partners, which he founded in 1989.  Among the medical device companies that he built through Fairfax Partners were:  HealthASPex, APACHE Medical Systems, Inc.(acquired by Cerner Corp), Indigo Medical, Inc. (acquired by J&J), CollaGenex, Inc. (IPO), Vaso Products, Inc, and OvaMed Corporation (acquired by BEI Technologies). Dr. Ritterbush was also an early participant in Zoll Medical Corporation which designed and developed the first successful, FDA approved, portable defibrillator. Today the company is one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of these products worldwide.

Dr. Ritterbush holds a B.S. degree in Engineering and a B.A. degree in Political Science from Union College; a M.S. in Oceanography from the University of Hawaii; a M.A. degree in International Law and Diplomacy and a Ph.D. in International Economics from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy of Tufts and Harvard Universities.  He was also the recipient of a Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship to the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. In addition, he has served on the Board of Trustees of Union College where he was Chairman of the Finance Committee.
